Building Trust – Where do you start?
In any software development team, a vital ingredient to being successful is trust…
“No quality of characteristic is more important than trust” – Patrick Lencioni, The 5 Dysfunctions of a Team.
“Build projects around motivated individuals and trust them to get the job done” – Manifesto for Agile Software Development.
But what is trust? Can we define it? How do we improve it?
This talk will explain a simple and powerful approach to start understanding and building trust within your team, and with others.
Stephen is an agile coach and trainer with Calba.
He started his career as a software engineer in 1980s with Hewlett-Packard who were pioneering new manufacturing techniques, many of which today we term as agile or lean.
For organisations adopting agile, he is a strong believer in focussing on people and culture before process and tools. A big influence comes from his past experience as a personal development leader in the voluntary sector and international expeditions.
Stephen lives in Edinburgh and started Lean Agile Edinburgh in 2013.
